The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) hosted a webinar entitled, “Innovating for the Future of Nigeria’s Oil & Gas Industry and its Linkage Sectors” on May 14, 2020 to announce a new program called BrentPlus. The goal is to develop a 10-year plan to promote the development of innovative solutions in the O&G sector.LOCOMeX Founder & CEO Ayo Jemiri understands the historical significance of this program, because over 20 years ago, he was a beneficiary of local content policy when he worked on a major pipeline infrastructure project in the Niger-Delta region of Nigeria. Also, 10 years ago, he advocated and was involved in local content when he collaborated with NCDMB
to implement the Nigerian Content Act. Since then, he has worked with the government to drive change that affects now-flourishing local communities.
“It has been an honor working with Engr Ernest Nwapa the pioneer Executive Secretary of NCDMB. I’m looking forward to collaborating with Engr Simbi Wabote, to continue the improvement of communities through the hiring of local businesses. The BrentPlus program will usher in a new era of innovation and collaboration. Our online platform technology, LOCOMeX is designed to allow these businesses to sustainably participate, monitor progress, and track their results. NCDMB may use the LOCOMeX Platform’s “API Connector & Integration Gateway” to integrate the existing NOGICJQS portal with our innovative artificial intelligence (AI) powered “DivedIn” product. It will add value for local content-compliant resource planning & analysis, and local content-compliant spend forecasting. NCDMB may also use our cloud-based “Invoice Tracker” for grant fund administration & tracking invoice-to-pay (I2P) workflows, in order to automate regulatory compliance reporting of local content spend within the Oil 8 Gas and linkage industry. This should improve transparency, create sustainable supplier diversity within the local content ecosystem, mitigate illegal use of non-complaint manpower supply, and ensure the success of the BrentPlus program, in alignment with the NCDMB mission.”
